SUMMARY:2025 Growing Dahlias (Part 3)
DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to continue our events throughout this season with our series on Growing Dahlias. \nWe have already covered putting the tubers to sleep\, collecting seed\, waking the tubers up\, splitting your tubers and preparing your seed for sowing. \nWe now continue with all aspects of taking cuttings\, sowing seeds and much more.  We include discussions on rooting mediums and methods and how to grow on your precious cuttings.  This includes feeding and planting out and the meaning of “stopping”. \nWe take a look at Pot Tubers and Mother Plants\, what does “how many to grow up” mean and why it is important for all growers. \nWe look at Dahlia Classifications \nFor those interested in having a go at showing we look at the show schedule and what it all means. \nThis event is open to everyone whether you are a member or not.  There is a small entrance fee of £1 per person which includes a cup of tea or coffee. \nPLEASE NOTE: The Shire House Suite is on the opposite side of the road from the The Shire House.  It is in the main car park.
