Success for Peter at “The Nationals 2013”

The late Peter Greenway (Society Vice Chairman in 2013) celebrated his success at the National Dahlia Shows at RHS Wisley and Harrogate in 2013.

Weston Stardust, Josudi Telstar and Ryecroft Pixie earned Pete a Bronze Medal in The Weston Trophy at Wisley. A Silver Medal was awarded in The G.F.C. Crowley Cup for his own New British Seedling – Josudi Apollo. He also won first in the classes New British Seedling for cut flowers (Josudi Neptune), Six Distinct Cultivars (four unnamed seedlings, Josudi Telstar and Ryecroft Pixie), Five Blooms with Western Pirate and Bicolour with Josudi Sunburst. His Wisley success was rounded off with a second prize for Large Pompon (Rosemary Dawn).

Pete and his wife Jayne then travelled up to Harrogate where he again enjoyed success winning first out of seven entries for the Miniature Cactus Championship with Weston Miss, Weston Buccaneer and Ryecroft Pixie. First prize for Large Pompon (Rosemary Dawn). Second prizes for Miniature Cactus Seedling (Josudi Pegasus) and a Vase of miniature cactus (Ryecroft Pixie). Finally a third in the two vases of two varieties class with Josudi Telstar and Weston Pirate.
