Sunday 22 October saw us hold our regular October Get Together.
Emily and Stephen Webster, both of whom are members of the society and also Agronomists provided a very interesting presentation on soil and how we can feed it to get the best from our dahlias and also the cut flower business they also run.
Our very own Lorraine Jasper treated us to a demonstration on how to build a bowl of dahlias for the nine or more dahlias in a bowl class.
After some welcome refreshments and some time for a chat and a catch-up Ian Clemens provided us with an informative talk on growing dahlias from seed and all the differences you can expect. Some good, some not so good and end up on the compost ! But you can end up with “a cracker” which Ian did – and saw him win at National Level.
