Open Day – at Roy and Pats

by | 13 August 2017

Roy and Pat Knight kindly invited members and their friends to their garden for a chat and a look around their garden. An ideal opportunity to look at the many different varieties of dahlia in flower.

It was a lovely sunny Sunday afternoon and well attended. Plenty of tea, cakes and sconces were consumed (I was lucky enough to get a sample the day before !!).

In addition a demonstration of staging dahlias was put on by Cyril Watkins.

The event also raised much needed funds for two worthy charities – £200 was sent to the Joseph Wells Hospice in Doncaster in memory of Pats neice, aged only 37, that sadly passed away after suffering Bowl Cancer. £100 was also sent to the Cornwall Air Ambulance so huge thanks to everyone involved.
